Prema navodima centralne banke, ovaj porast kamatne stope odgovara ekonomskom rastu iznad potencijalnog nivoa, te mogućnost apsorpcije viškova kapaciteta unutar privrede. Raste i globalna ekonomija, kao i region. Ipak, više stope mogu ugroziti oštar rast cena nekretnina i dugovanja domaćinstava.
Bank of Canada increases overnight rate target to 3/4 per cent – Bank of Canada
The Central Bank of Canada increased the reference interest rate, after almost seven years (by 0.25 percentage points, to 0.75%). According to the central bank, this increase in the interest rate corresponds to economic growth above the potential level, and the possibility of absorbing excess capacity within the economy. The global economy is growing, as well as the region. Still, higher rates could threaten a sharp rise in house prices and household debt.
